AAT V: Ch 23 – Exodus (attack of the enemy)
Now it is well past morning in the little village where the mice have been given asylum since the attacks. Fievel’s in his room already getting whatever he needs for the long trip across the Atlantic.
We switch the scene to seeing him walking through the shipyard. He looks at the workers filling the balloons with hot air to lift the big ships. He is approached by Gussie.
Gussie: Um Excuse me Fievel, have you seen John anywhere?
Fievel: No, why?
Gussie: No one has seen him since last night.
Fievel: Well, he’s probably off, hungover somewhere.
Gussie: I would agree with you but he hasn’t been seen in the bar since last night, and apparently no one knows where he is.
Fievel: Alright, uhh, I’ll go ask Judge Tyrol.
Gussie: Please do, it’s not like him to be gone like this.
Fievel: Have you tried his room?
Gussie: I haven’t but your friends have, they say he isn’t there.
Fievel: Okay then, I’ll go ask Tyrol, but he’s probably drunk and fell asleep somewhere or something like that.
Gussie: That is most likely what happened.
Now we see Karina, in her room getting ready like everyone else, she packs her weapons into a case because they’re going to need it later, and put some of her clothing in a suit case, but then she looks at another luggage. She opens it up and pulls out a violet outfit. It is a one piece tight outfit with some jingles on the hip part of the dress; it’s her belly dance outfit.
Then there is a knock at the door.
Karina: Come in.
Sally enters the room.
Karina: Oh hi.
Sally: Have you seen, honest John anywhere?
Karina: No, why?
Sally: Apparently no one has seen him since we left the bar last night.
Karina: Oh, no I haven’t seen him, I haven’t seen him all night.
Sally: Oh, okay… (Notices her outfit) What is that?
Karina: Oh, nothing… It’s just an outfit.
Sally: Really, what is it?
Karina: It’s my dancing outfit.
Sally: Violet, that’s nice. What are you gonna do with it?
Karina: Probably throw it away.
Sally: Throw it away? Why? This is a nice outfit. Look at it, it’s beautiful. Violet looks great on you.
Karina: Thank you.
Sally: Belly dancing, you always looked great doing that.
Karina: You’re too kind.
Sally: Hey, maybe on our way over there you should do one for Fievel.
Karina: Oh, come on.
Sally: No it’ll be really good, he’ll love it.
Sally: Come on, you still got those moves.
Karina: Yeah well, at least it will be something. He still gets nervous around me.
Karina: Mostly because he’s young. I think so at least.
Sally: Yeah… of course. Pack it up take it with you. Who knows maybe he’ll like it.
Karina: He will, I know that, they always do.
Sally: Yeah, typical boys.
Then there is another knock on the door. Karina quicly puts it in her suit case.
Sally: Come in.
Tim enters the room.
Sally: Hey Tim.
Tim: Hey, you guys haven’t seen John have you?
Karina: No Sally was just asking me that… I haven’t seen him since last night.
Sally: Where do you think he is?
Tim: I don’t know but he’d better hurry up and show himself because we’re leaving in seven hours.
Sally: Leaving… I can’t believe it.
Karina: Yeah, we’re going to a different country, how unbelievable is that?
Sally: I know.
Tim: I hope Fievel knows what he’s doing. What if Warren doesn’t go for it?
Karina: He will… I hope.
Now we see Tony and Bridget in their rooms standing over the bed packing their belongings and preparing for the long trip across the sea.
Tony: So… going to another country.
Tony: (somewhat angrily) to bad it had to take a conflict instead of a vacation to do it.
He throws a piece of his clothing into a luggage.
Bridget: Are you okay?
Tony: (sighs) Yes… no, not really.
Bridget moves towards him.
Bridget: Come on, sit down.
Tony sits down, Bridget sits right beside him on his right and puts her arm around his shoulder.
Bridget: What are you so worried about?
Tony: I don’t know, well… we’re going across the ocean to another country to lead them away so that we can fight them. But… what if something happens to you?
Bridget: Nothing will.
Tony: Yeah, you say that now but what if it does?
Bridget: It won’t. I can take care of myself.
Tony: You always could.
Bridget: Yes, but you were always there to take care of me too. Remember?
Tony: Yeah, I remember.
Bridget kisses him, after that she was about to get back to packing but Tony grabs her arm before she could go, he pulls her back. Whilst sitting and facing each other, they both come closer and closer each closing their eyes as they do so and they slowly kiss each other. Then there was a knock on the door.
Tony: (sighs) I don’t believe it… Who’s there?
William: (from outside) it’s William.
Tony: What is it?
William: I think this package is for you…
Bridget: (whispering to Tony) What?
Tony gets up and opens the door; William is holding a package that is addressed for Tony.
Tony: What is that?
William: I don’t know, the building manager said it was for you.
Tony: Well bring it in… Did you guys find John yet?
William: No we’re still looking.
The Door shuts.
Now we see them putting the box on a little table.
Bridget: Why would someone send something to you?
Tony: I don’t know, I didn’t even order anything.
They open the box and see that there is a blanket wrapped around something, they unwrapped it and to their horror see something that really scared them, they all move immedietly away from the box, Bridget screaming in shock Tony holds her while she covers her eyes, Tim gets sick to the stomach puts his hand around his mouth and nearly vomits. We don’t see what is in there but we can tell it’s something horrible.
Now we see Fievel walking in the building after hearing some news.
Then in the hallway he is exciting an elevator where William is waiting for him, they both walk down the hallway towards Tony’s room where William is explaining the details of what happened.
William: It was really horrible, for a moment I had to head into the restroom and vomit.
Fievel: What was it?
They enter the room. Tony is standing away from the box waiting for him but as soon as Fievel entered he looked slowly toward him. He is completely horrified and almost petrified of what he saw.
Fievel: Tony… are you okay?
Tony: … N—no. We can stop looking for John.
Fievel: Why? What happened?
Tony pauses for a moment and points towards the closed box.
Tony: Look what they did to him the poor bastard.
Fievel slowly walked towards the box. He is afraid of what he would see. He takes one slow steps at a time until completely stopping in front of the table where the box was held. He slowly opens the box and to his horror sees what he was afraid he would see. We are viewing his facial expression from behind the box as he opened it, and yet we still don’t see what is in there but it is clearly obvious that Fievel is looking at Honest John’s head. The camera zooms to his face as his expression changes from scared to sicken. Then he closes the box, says nothing, and walks out.
Now we see Fievel back in the room with his parents and his sisters who are sitting on the bed with their mother while his father sits on a chair next to him, and Karina is also in the room standing by the door… They already know about Johns death. Fievel is depressed, his face shows it, he is afraid and in doubt of the future, he is also plagued with guilt for the death of John.
Papa M: It wasn’t your fault…
Fievel says nothing to them.
Mama M: Fievel?
He still keeps quiet.
Yasha: Fievel... please talk to us... Please.
Her brother says nothing still staring at the floor.
Yasha: Fievel please.
Fievel still has nothing to say other than to just stare at the wooden floor, nothing of him moves, not even his tail, it’s as if he is just a stuffed lifeless animal. Tanya gets off the bed and moves in front of him, she crouches and tries to make Fievel look at her, but even her action didn’t seem to draw Fievel’s attention.
Tanya: Fievel… Fievel, please say something.
Fievel does not move, nor say anything, but just sits there like a rock, he doesn’t even look at her he just keeps staring in front of him, which is where Tanya positioned herself to try to draw his attention, she puts her hand on his face to try to grab his attention but still he stares forward. This also make Karina feel very despondent, she uses her hands to wipe tears from her eyes. Finally, Fievel’s Father decided to give him some space. He signals his family and Karina to leave. His younger sister Yasha is the first to walk out, then his mother made for the door, but she looks at Karina and puts her hand on her shoulder, Karina looks at Fievel’s mother with sorrow for her son, then they both walk out. Tanya, before parting, she gives her brother a kiss on his forehead, and then she leaves. Lastly his father gets up from his chair then starts to walk out but was interrupted by his son’s voice.
Fievel: (softly) Why?
To his father’s surprise, his son said something to him. He slowly turns around.
Papa M: What?
Fievel: Why… why did this—had to happen? Why?
His father closed the door, and walks back towards his chair and sits down.
Fievel: All I wanted… was to come back here to start a new life for myself and for my family. I wanted to be with my friends, I wanted to do something good for a change without ever having to worry about something bad happening. Juniper and her siblings lost their mother, and a lot of people died, and… And now John is dead… someone else is dead because… because I failed to watch over my friends.
Papa M: That is not true.
Fievel: You should’ve seen Juniper’s mom. She was afraid, she asked me a question in the alley because she was afraid. I was supposed to have the answer.
Papa M: Fievel…
Fievel: Why? Why did this had to happen?
Papa M: Fievel, things happen, and if they do they happen for a reason. Things always happen, you can’t predict it, and you can’t explain it.
Fievel: But why now? Why did it happen to Juniper and her siblings?
His father stays silent after he had asked that question. Until he came up with a good explanation…
Papa M: Like I said Fievel, things happen. And it happens out of nowhere, it all happens so randomly we can’t control it. We can’t predict it. That’s what makes this universe the way it is. The Universe consists of many things that we cannot even imagine. However just because something bad happened doesn’t make it your fault.
Fievel: It does if you make it happen.
Papa M: But you didn’t know it was going to happen didn’t you?
Fievel: Moe blowing up the ball was a sign of something bad happening. He even told me that Warren had returned for vengeance. And what was I doing. Sitting in the court room explaining to the judge about what had happened during the explosion.
Papa M: You said “it does if you make it happen.” Did you kill those children’s mother?
Papa M: Did you know they were going to be killed?
Fievel: No but--
Papa M: No “buts”!… How could you have known it was going to happen? You can’t read minds can’t you?
Fievel: (he looks down) no.
Papa M: There… you see, it wasn’t your fault. It wasn’t, you need to stop blaming yourself for everything that goes wrong here.
Fievel: I don’t know.
His father puts his arm around him and his son does the same.
Papa M: Oh, Fievel. You need to learn not to take everything at fault. You are still young, and you have your whole life ahead of you, don’t trouble yourself for everything.
Fievel hugs his wise father.
Fievel: You’re right Papa, you’re right.
Now they hold each other for a few seconds, until Fievel realized something…
Fievel: Wait a minute.
Papa M: What?
Fievel: They killed John, and then… We need to leave… Now!
Papa M: Why what’s wrong?
Fievel: We need to leave here right now, I think we’re about to be attacked.
Now we see Tony in the room with his wife Bridget. Tony is trying to make her comfortable for she is still in shock of seeing Johns head, until Fievel came into the room.
Fievel: Guys… I think you need to grab your stuff and get ready, we must leave right now…
Fievel: because after what happened to John, they know where we are, and they’re about to hit this village next. So we need to leave.
Tony: Are you sure?
Fievel: No… but I have a hunch it’s gonna happen.
Tony: Fievel don’t you know how naive you sound? I mean sure John was an impact on all of us but—
Fievel: Tony you’re either with me or you’re not… Now come on.
Fievel: Tony, I really need your help. Please, I need everyone to board the ships…
Tony: But Fievel.
Fievel: Please, please help me… Please.
Then Tony gives in.
Now Tiger is at the shipyards with Gussie and is figuring out what these blades are doing on the side of the ship. They are propellers but seeing as how he’s never seen them before he is curious.
Tiger: Say... what are these things?
Gussie: They’re called propellers; they will be used to move the ship, instead of having to rely on the wind.
Tiger: Really, how do they work?
Gussie: They turn.
Tiger: Wow, that’s awesome piece of machinery.
Suddenly they were interrupted by Tony.
Tony: Guys… Gussie.
Tiger: Hey Tony.
Tony: Hi Tiger. Listen up we have to leave now…
Tony: Fievel has some reason to believe that Warren knows where we are and that he’s on his way here…
Gussie: What, are you sure>
Tony: Yes. When John was killed, that must be the sign that they know where we are, so we must leave right now…
Gussie: Okay, I’ll get judge Tyrol to start boarding the ships. You guys need to get the civilians over here.
Tony: Will do.
They split up leaving Tiger.
Tiger: Wait, what do I do?
Tony: I don’t know just… keep calm.
Tony runs away.
Tiger: (to himself) Keep calm. Alright, I’ll keep calm.
Now back at the town, Fievel is telling his family to get to the ships before anyone attacks; it is nearly chaos in the streets of the village.
Mama M: Fievel, what about you?
Fievel: I’ll be fine, I need to get everyone to the ships… You guys go right ahead.
Papa M: Are you sure you don’t need any help?
Fievel: I got plenty of help, I just need you guys over at the ships, we’re leaving.
Fievel notices Karina is not with them.
Fievel: Where’s Karina.
Mama M: She went back to her place.
Fievel: I’m gonna go get her.
Fievel runs into the building. At the door way his father yells at him.
Papa M: Fievel don’t get hurt!
Fievel: I won’t just get to the ships.
He then turns into the building and runs into Bridget.
Bridget: Oh Fievel.
Fievel: Bridget, you’re okay?
Bridget: Yes I am, I want to help what can I do?
Fievel: I don’t know what can you do?
She looks out the doors into the crowd outside.
Bridget: I could probably tell everyone to head for the ships.
Fievel: Good, great idea that’s what we need.
Bridget: Okay, wait where are you going?
Fievel: To get Karina. Get everyone to the ships I’ll meet you there.
Bridget looks at the crowd which is still calm but even then she realized it’s going to be hard.
Now we’re back at the shipyard where it still calm but now that some mice are coming over it’s going to be chaos. Judge Tyrol is taking a seat behind his desk, while talking to Gussie inside of an office that overlooks the shipyard. Colonel Bogart is there with them too. Standing on the side of the desk.
Tyrol: So, they may know we’re here. How?
Gussie: I don’t know maybe they followed some of the mice here when they were fleeing but them murdering John was a clear message that we must leave right now.
Bogart: I agree, if the enemy knows we’re here then we must depart.
The Judge exits his chair and looks out the window at the shipyard.
Tyrol: Very well, we leave now. We already have most of the supplies onboard.
Gussie: Alright, thank you.
Tyrol: Let us just hope that Fievel’s right Warren wanting to chase us to the ends of the earth.
Now Fievel is in Karina’s room where her friend Sally, Tim and the children are there as well.
Fievel: Okay, is everything ready?
Fievel: Sally, are the kids okay?
Sally: Yeah they’re good.
Tim: I’m ready too.
Fievel: Okay, we’re gonna quickly head for the ships, where’s William and Peter?
Tim: Last time I saw them was at the shipyards, I think.
Then Juniper asks with her sweet voice.
Juniper: Mr. Mousekewitz what’s happening?
Fievel crouches in front of her and her siblings.
Fievel: Nothing we’re just leaving early okay?
April: will we be alright?
Fievel: Of course we will I promise.
Now Fievel draws his attention towards Tim, Karina, and Sally.
Fievel: Okay come on let’s go.
Now we see them entering the lobby and headed towards the door where Bridget instructing the crowd to slowly move towards the shipyards.
Fievel: Wow, she’s doing a good job.
She catches Bridget’s attention.
Karina: Come Here!
Suddenly there was an explosion on the far end of the village. It was loud enough to scare the crowd. Everyone looked to see what it was. A few seconds later there were gunshots, no doubt about it, Fievel was right. It’s Warren’s Cat gang attacking the village, followed by Moe’s rat gang as well. The cats are too big to bare the weapons that were made for rats and mice size, however despite being bigger; they can still get hurt by their weapons, they are still in fact able to hold miniature guns that were made for humans. They are using the world’s first pistols, the volcanic pistol, which is the smaller version of a lever action weapon.
Cat gangster 1: Yeah come and get some boys.
The cat gangster fires at buildings and the crowd acting like a psychopath. Fievel sees him going crazy with the gun.
Fievel: (To Karina and her friends) You guys need to leave now, head for the ships.
Karina: What about you?
Fievel: I’ll be fine. Just go, you gotta get the kids out of here.
Karina: Fievel no!
Fievel: Go… Go!
Tim grabs a hold of Karina’s arm.
Tim: Come on, come on. Let’s go.
Meanwhile back at the office where Tyrol has just made his decision they were already getting things ready.
Tyrol: Colonel Bogart, you and your men will rally the people and bring them here.
Bogart: Yes sir.
Gussie: Will these ships have enough room.
Tyrol: Of course they will, they’re even bigger than some of the human cottages, with decks and luxurious rooms.
Then there is a knock on the door.
Tyrol: Come in.
Then Peter and William entered.
Peter: Gussie we’ve got a problem, we’re under attack.
William: Warren’s men, and Moe’s rats has just attack the civilians are on their way.
Tyrol: Bogart, we still need some more time.
Bogart: I’ll try to get you that but there are no guarantees though, we’re not prepared.
Tyrol: Just try your best. Gussie, we have to get you to the ship.
Now back to the battle ground Fievel is trying his best to help everyone out of the danger zone. To his left a woman falls to the ground, he runs over to help her up.
Fievel: You okay? (he pulls her up) Get out of here!
She runs away, and then Fievel looks at the line of the enemy shooting at his direction, he stands still while other mice are running past him, but from behind his men, Fievel finally sees his nemesis. Warren T. Rat, the cat who has come for him. It is also clear that the aging cat also sees Fievel as well.
Now we are at Karina’s group, they’re running with the crowd but Karina keeps looking back for Fievel but doesn’t see him. Tim keeps pulling her while she keeps resisting.
Karina: Where is he?
Tim: Don’t worry he’ll be alright, come on.
Karina: I can’t leave him.
Tim: Karina we’ve got no choice come on.
Then she grabs her sword and her rifle from the bag they were dragging, and takes off.
Tim runs after her.
Sally: Tim, Tim wait!
Tim: (to Sally) I’ll get her.
Sally: Tim… wait.
Then Bridget tries to get her attention.
Bridget: Sally listen to me, we have to get the kids to safety.
Tyler: Where are they going? Are they coming back?
Bridget: It’s okay kids come on we have to get you out of here.
Bridget starts to run with the kids, while Sally still looks at the same direction.
Bridget: Sally, please come on.
She then runs with Bridget and the children towards the ships while she sees some soldiers running the other direction.
And then we see Tiger, standing by the ship, curious as ever. He sees the mice coming in panicked and headed for the ship.
Tiger: (to himself) what’s happening?
He hears an explosion in the distance coming from the town.
Tiger: Oh no! They’re in trouble, uh—uh—(panicking) what am I gonna do? Oh yeah that’s right, I’ll go get help, that’s what I’ll do I’ll go get—
He bangs his head on the propeller blade, and falls to the ground.
Now Fievel’s parents are standing on board the ship, on the main deck by the railing, looking everywhere for their son. His sisters stand beside them worried for him. It is chaos as so many scared mice and rats alike are boarding the ships screaming as they do so.
Papa M: DO you see him?!?
Yasha: No! I don’t!
Mama M: where is he?
Papa M: I have to go look for him.
He starts to run towards the boarding bridge where the mice are crossing to get to the ships.
Tanya: NO WAIT! PAPA! NO!
His family screams for him to get back on the ship but he ignores them to look for his son.
Now back at Fievel, the mice are still crowding the streets and he is still looking at Warren T. Rat.
Warren: There he is. Finally.
Moe standing at his side.
Moe: We got’em on the run.
Warren: Good, now bring the bombs down on them…
Suddenly there was a gunshot that took down one of Moe’s rats who was standing right beside him. The cats and the rats break up and take cover behind buildings.
Fievel looks behind him and sees some of Bogarts soldiers with pistols, automatic weapons, and rifles, weapons that resemble steampunk designs, charging the other direction while the civvies run towards the ships.
Moe: They’ve begun firing T.
Warren: Finally some action. Throw the bombs over there, I want those buildings leveled, and bring down that tree too.
Back to Fievel he is taking cover behind a wall, then Bogart approaches him.
Bogart: Fievel, you need to get out of here.
Fievel: What about you?
Bogart: We’re buying time! Now get out of here.
His cats are preparing a wagon full of red ball shaped bombs that are big enough for the cat’s hand. They’re easy to light when all it takes is a pull of a string to light the fuse. Then they throw it at Bogarts men and the explosions are so big they can easily bring down a single mouse size building.
Bogart grabs Fievel and pushes him away whilst the bombs are detonating around them.
Bogart: Get out of here!
Fievel: No I’ll not leave you give me a weapon.
Bogart: You are more important than I am get out of here! Go!
Bogart: Go!!! You have to get them out of here, we’ll hold them off.
Now back at Warren’s line. He is observing what his men are doing.
Warren: Alright men advance. Aim at that tree right there.
One of his cats throws a bomb at the tree and it detonates on impact. Blowing a big chunk of the tree right on top of Fievel and Bogart. They break for cover underneath the rooftop of one of the buildings stationed at the base of the tree that just blew up.
More and more of Warren’s gangsters are shooting at the soldiers and are shooting at the tree at the same time, weakening it. Bogarts men keep on shooting and throwing bombs at them, whilst there are more explosions around them and the city. Buildings everywhere are crumbling and everything is being burned to shreds. Bogart pushes Fievel towards the road that’s in danger of the weakening tree.
Bogart: Come on get out of here. (to his soldiers) MEN FALL BACK!!!
His soldiers are being overrun by the advancing enemy gangsters.
Moe is now shooting at everyone he can kill, he fires some shots and some of them hit his targets. Then his second in command Levi appears behind him.
Levi: Okay, we’ve got them falling back.
Warren says with a triumphant roar.
Warren: Advance! Destroy that tree.
His gangsters still shoot at the tree, as they do so little pieces fall towards the retreating soldiers making it harder for them to run away as some of the splinters are sharp.
Warren orders his men to give him a weapon.
Warren: Hey, give me that cannon.
The cat gives him a weapon with six barrels loaded with explosive rounds that will clearly do a lot of damage. He aims it at the tree trunk, and fires. The impact explosion was immense, and so powerful, it send a shockwave powerful enough to knock down both Bogart’s men, and Warren’s gangsters. Fievel and Bogart drop to the ground. And now there is silence between both sides for about a few seconds. Then, the entire tree starts to slowly fall back away from Warren and towards where Fievel and Bogarts men are at.
Fievel looks up, his eyes widen as he sees the horrendous view of a mammoth tree coming down upon them. He immediately grabs Bogart.
Fievel: (to Bogart) Come on! Come on, we gotta go! Come on!
He looks up at the tree which is falling slowly seeing as how it has to go through other branches of trees. Then Fievel looks forward down the road of the other side of the tree.
Fievel: Karina! Get out of the way.
Karina looks up and sees the tall tree falling down.
Tim: Karina Into the building.
They run into a nearby building as the titanic tree breaks through other branches and stumbles right towards Fievel and Bogart. Bogart grabs Fievel and pulls him into an alley way before the tree came down. As the tree fell on the ground it crushed buildings, completely destroying them. Some of Bogart’s soldiers were crushed as the tree fell on them. Even the alley Fievel and Bogart moved into wasn’t enough to keep the heavy tree from falling on them. Fievel found himself with his leg caught stuck under a tree branch, pinning his leg. He screams from the pain of the heavy branch putting pressure on his leg, not broken yet.
Fievel: Colonel! Colonel! Karina!
He still hears gunshots, Warren’s gangsters and Bogart’s men were still fighting in other areas than just the place he was in. He tries to lift up the branch but couldn’t do it alone. There was an explosion at the other end of the valley where some of the soldiers were still fighting Warren’s men. Fievel tries his best to pull his leg from the branch, using almost all his strength to move it, but it still wouldn’t budge. Then Karina comes in from the destroyed building.
Fievel: Karina! What are you doing here? I thought I told you to go.
Karina: You needed my help.
She sets her rifle and her sword on the ground and grabs hold of the branch and tries to lift it off of him. Suddenly, one of Moe’s followers came in from on top of the tree branch laughing hysterically while attacking with his knife drawn. Karina draws her sword, as the rat takes a swing at her she cuts off his hand and slices his throat. He immediately drops to the ground… Then she puts her sword down and tries lifting the branch again. Both of them trying with their strength to lift it up but couldn’t.
Fievel: It’s not working.
Karina: I’m gonna get you out, trust me.
She tries again but nothing happens, and then Tim and Bogart came in to Fievel’s rescue.
Meanwhile Back at the shipyard almost all of the mice are on board. Gussie and Judge Tyrol are escorted onto the ship by Peter and William, who are armed with one of the automatic weapons. When they get on board the vessel, they see Fievel’s mother and her daughters.
Tanya: Gussie! Gussie! Have you seen Fievel?
Gussie: Not since a few hours ago, he isn’t with you?
Yasha: No his over at the town.
Peter: Wait a minute where’s Tiger?
William: I don’t know… I thought he was with Fievel.
Tiger still remains unconscious behind the ship next to the propeller blades however the mice don’t notice him because he’s hidden from view seeing as how he is underneath the ship.
Back at the battle scene Fievel is still stuck but now Bogart, Tim and Karina are there to help him.
Karina: Okay guys, on three, one… two… (Explosion in the background) Three…
They all lift as hard as they can while Fievel tries to push, Bogart having the strongest muscles, and being the biggest there, they all lift the limb off of his leg, he crawls out of there, and then they let it go.
Karina: Is it broken.
Fievel: No I can still move it.
Karina: Okay come on get up. We have to get out of here.
They finally start running for the ships, but that wasn’t all when they finally cleared of the tree and its branches they came across one of the cat gang members and 6 of the rat members. Karina pointed her rifle at them but didn’t fire, they were outnumbered and outgunned, it seemed that all hope had been lost. When suddenly, the cat was grabbed by Koncord, the giant eagle picks him up and violently shakes him and threw him into the woods like he was just a soft ball, The rats were in panic trying to shoot at him but some of them were picked up by his beak and most were crushed. Fievel looks at who is riding him and he sees Tony.
Tony: Hey, who ordered a great white eagle?
The Eagle lowers his head to let Fievel and his friends on… More of the soldiers were coming in from the front and started to surround the eagle in order to protect the colonel and Fievel; But Bogart didn’t seem to want to go. 2
Bogart: I’m not going
Fievel: No please, please, order your men to retreat, I need you.
Bogart: We’ll hold them off while you escape.
Fievel: No BOGART listen to me right now, I need you and I need your men, this isn’t the way to go, this is suicide, it’s not your time, do you hear me? It’s not your time. Please, order your men to retreat, you won’t win this one. Not yet… please.
Bogart thinks about Fievels request, then he agrees.
Bogart: (sigh) alright. (to his soldiers) Men! Retreat! (to the Bugle) Bugle sound the retreat.
The Sargent started playing the Bugle call retreat. This signals all of Bogart’s men to retreat. Then Fievel helps Bogart up.
Bogart: Fievel, my men need time to retreat.
Fievel: Don’t worry I’ll give them that.
Back at Warren’s line, there is utter destruction in front of him they’re still throwing bombs as they advance, and then there is a loud eagle roar that caught their attention. Due to the black smoke caused by the fire they could not see him.
Moe: What the hell was that?
They look anxiously into the black smoke when suddenly they hear:
Fievel: HONEST JOHN YOU SONS OF—
The Eagle pops out of the black smoke and wreaks havoc upon Warren’s gang. At some point the Eagle picked up the wagon full of bombs and dropped it upon a group of Warren’s gang members, as it so happens they were located on fire, the explosion was so huge it send a shock wave that shook the earth, and knocked Moe’s gang and Warrens gang to the ground. The Eagle was lifting up cats with its sharp claws and throwing them like toys. This really enraged Warren, he grabbed his own pistol and started shooting at the eagle that was flying in the sky.
Warren: (pow) come on (pow) COME ON! (pow) COME ON!!! (click) Goddammit.
He throws his weapon aside and picks up another weapon from the ground. As the Eagle starts flying away he shoots.
Now further down the road leading to the shipyards, the soldiers are making their way towards the ships while Fievel’s father is looking for him. Some of the soldiers tried to grab a hold of him to drag him back but he just kept resisting.
Papa M: Fievel! Where is Fievel?!? Fievel!
A soldier tries to grab his arm.
Soldier: Sir come on we’ve got to go.
Papa M: NO I won’t leave my son.
He manages to free himself from his grasp then the soldier keeps on running. However he keeps on heading the other direction. Then he sees the giant eagle barring down on him, he doesn’t’ know Fievel is riding him, however Fievel spots him.
Fievel: That’s Papa, quick Koncord, grab him.
The Eagle is approaching Fievel’s father however he was so scared he starts running away but the eagle caught up with him and grabbed him, and they flew them to the ship yards.
Back at the yards, on the ship where Fievel’s Family’s being held, they look desperately for Fievel but still do not see him. Then they see Bridget along with Sally, and the children come on board.
Yasha: That’s Bridget… Bridget! Sally!
They caught their attention.
Sally: There they are…
They board the vessel, and are making their way towards Fievel’s family, and Gussie, Peter, and William as well. The kids are still with them holding on tightly to their hands. They greeted each other with hugs of relief.
Sally: Oh my, I’m so happy to see you.
Bridget: Tanya, have you seen Tony?
Tanya: No we haven’t I thought he was with you.
Bridget: He wasn’t with me, I haven’t seen him since the hotel.
Peter notices the eagle coming from the tree line.
Peter: Look over there.
William: It’s them.
The Eagle flies low, till it finally reached the ships deck, all of the passengers step back. The Eagle first drops Fievel’s father off on the deck, then he is greeted with hugs and kisses from his daughters.
Yasha: Oh Papa, you had us so worried.
Papa M: I’m alright.
The eagle lowers his head to let Tim, and Bogart off. The captain on the ship realizes that one of the three ships have already taken off, while the other is about to cast off. He orders his crew to cast off.
Ship Captain: Cast off. Cut the ropes we’re leaving.
This enrages Bogart knowing that they’re leaving his men behind.
Bogart: Wait a minute captain, those are my men back there.
Then they hear an explosion in the distance, they are getting closer.
Captain: Sorry sir, if we don’t cast off they’ll destroy our ships, we need to leave. (to his men) Cast off.
Bogart: Wait just a few more seconds.
Captain: No can do, we’ve got to save whatever people we got on this ship. We’re leaving. (to his seamen) cast off now.
Bogart: DAMN YOU!!! (To Fievel) Fievel, we cannot leave my men behind to be slaughtered like pigs.
Fievel: Don’t worry I’m going to get them.
Karina: I’m coming with you.
Tanya: Wait a minute Fievel you sure.
Fievel: Don’t worry about me I’ll be fine.
Mama M: You’ve said that a hundred times.
Fievel: I mean it, I’ll be fine.
Tony: Wait a minute how are you gonna carry them with just one bird, they’re lots of them back there.
Karina whistles, and a few seconds later, Max, her gyrfalcon appeared on deck. She jumps on him.
Karina: alright come on lets go.
Yasha: Fievel, please be careful.
Fievel: (to the captain) cast off right now! Cast off!
Fievel and Karina takes off while the lines that were holding the ship were being cut.
Back into the trail, there are only a few of Bogart’s men left. They running while, Moe’s gangs were chasing them, and so was Warren’s gang, they were far behind the soldiers but they were still able to shoot at each other. Bogart’s men are outnumbered and outgunned if they’re not rescued soon then they’ll be slaughtered.
Then Fievel, and Karina appeared with their awesome birds of pray and attacked the gangsters. Karina shoots them with her rifle, while Fievels bird torments them. Then they fly away.
After that they landed near the soldiers. Fievel’s bird was bigger so he could carry about ten more, and a few more by the feet, while Max could only carry three more. Some of them board the giant eagle.
Fievel: Hold on tight.
Then they take off. Karina also takes off while her bird grabs a hold of two more of Bogart’s soldiers, but there were still some left. Karina shouts to them:
Karina: Keep on running we’ll be back!
The soldiers do exactly what she says, they keep running.
Back at the shipyards Fievel is already there and so is Karina to drop off the soldiers at the ship while its giant zeppelin is lifting the boat off the yard and is starting to gain altitude. The soldiers are dropped off at the deck.
Soldier 1: There’s still more men back there.
Fievel: I’ll get them. Don’t worry.
Fievel and Karina both take off diving towards the tree line.
Back at the scene, the gang members were gaining on the soldiers. There were only enough for Fievel’s bird to carry this time. Two of those soldiers happen to be friends. One of them by the name of Chuck has a wounded leg, and is being helped by his friend Michael to run away from the fight. But then Chuck couldn’t move anymore.
Michael: Come on Chuck, we have to keep moving.
Chuck: Michael, leave me. Please go, save yourself.
Michael: No I won’t leave you I’m getting you out of this.
Then Fievel and his eagle came back for the soldiers.
Michael: You see that? That’s Fievel he’s gonna get us out of here.
They hurry up to the Koncord but then there was an explosion that to their right that hit a small tree branch and fell in front of them.
Michael: No! No, no no!!!
He sees the eagle taking off and leaving him behind.
Michael: NO!!! PLEASE!!!
Chuck: Michael… go.
Michael: No I won’t
He starts shooting his automatic weapon at them until, out of sheer luck, Karina’s bird grabs them, one on each leg and takes off. The gang members were still shooting at them as they took off but they were able to escape.
At the enemy’s line, Warren looks with anger. And he tells his men to advance.
Warren: Come on guys after them, destroy the shipyards.
Back at the ship, it was already leaving, the propellers start to turn very rapidly in order to get away. Fievel and Karina are already there dropping off the last of the soldiers. The soldiers Karina picked up were deeply grateful to them.
Michael: Thank you… both of you, thank you.
Karina: You’re welcome.
They picked the wounded soldier up and took him below.
Fievel: Wait a minute where is Tiger?
Bridget: We thought he was with you…
Gussie: last I saw him he was under the ship looking at the propellers.
Fievel looks down at the shipyards, but sees nothing until he sees Tiger’s motionless body.
Fievel: There he is!!! Right there!
On the ground, Tiger is waking up. He slowly sits up and rubs his head.
Tiger: Ugh, what happened? (He sees the ships) oh look ships! Wait a minute, why are they over there?
He hears shouting from behind him and sure enough it was the gangsters coming to kill.
He gets up and runs towards the ships that are getting further away. He trips and looks back and realizes that he is spotted by Warren T. Rat.
Warren: Wait a minute, Moe… who is that?
Moe: Is that—Tiger?
Warren: That’s Tiger! Get him!!!
Tiger gets up and runs away.
Tiger: Oh no... This is not good, this is not good. (to the distant ships) HELP! HELP ME! HEL—
He is picked up by Koncord.
Tiger: AAAAAAHHH! What the—What is going on.
Tiger: Get me down from here!!!
Fievel: TIIIGEERR!!!!! YOU NEED TO CALM THE HELL DOWN!!!
Tiger: Oh—Fievel? Is that you.
Fievel: Yes it is.
Tiger: (bewildered) oh… you own an eagle… a great white eagle… how crazy is that?
He drops off Tiger on the deck.
Fievel: Alright guys, you wait here… I’m gonna have a word with Warren T.
Tony: Wait a minute WAIT A MINUTE!!!
Fievel takes off.
Tony: FIEVEL… FIEVEL!!!!!
Back on the ground there is no shooting anymore, its quiet now. Until Moe notices Fievel riding his eagle back to the yard.
Moe: Warren… look.
Warren looks at the approaching bird.
Warren: Well, well, so that’s the Koncord.
Moe: Want to shoot him down.
Fievel takes out a telescope, and sees Fievel has his hands up in the air.
Warren: No… he’s up to something.
Fievel approaches, Warren’s cats and rats have their guns trained on them.
Warren: Lower your weapons.
Then Fievel lands on the yard in front of their line of fire. The eagle gives a big loud monstrous roar. This amuses Warren for he chuckles a bit.
Warren: So that’s your bird. Hehehe. We finally meet again.
Fievel: Indeed we finally have.
Warren: That’s a nice looking bird you’ve got there.
Fievel: Shut up and listen.
Warren: That’s what I like, straight to the point.
Fievel: We’re leaving this country for the sake of the people who will be lost in the city due to our war.
Warren: I don’t want the people, I want you. You destroyed us all those years ago, and we will take it back. Why don’t you just give yourself up.
Fievel: Even if I do give myself up, you’ll still wreak havoc upon the great people here in New York.
Warren: NO I won’t I promise I won’t.
Fievel: Shut up.
Warren chuckles a bit while Fievel speaks.
Fievel: You’re a liar Warren, I know you… all those years ago you told me to trust you, you said you found my family, well guess what, I’m not falling for that no more. We settle our deal outside of New York, outside of the Country.
Warren: What you mean like Shostka? Russia? Yes… I know of your plans to lead me out of this country Fievel, I know you want me to follow you, and guess what, you’ll get what you want, because those mere three ships of yours, are nothing compared to what I got… I got a full boatload of surprises headed your way. No doubt Fievel, it is a good plan leading us out of our own soil, but it will fail, I will win, and you will suffer a bad consequence for what you did to me, for what you did to my pal Moe. For what you did to all of us.
Fievel: Tormenting people, now that’s a life. And you send other people to do your work for you. You send your fat rat Moe there to try and kill me.
Moe: I’ll skin you alive!!!
He draws his gun. Warren stops him.
Warren: Keep still. Okay, that’s your challenge then.
Fievel: Yes, we fight on different soil, and whatever happens, we’ll let faith decide.
Warren: Alright, this is new, I like it. Challenge accepted. If I win as in “live” and kill you, I get to come back here and do whatever the hell I like. If you win: well I’m not gonna let you win. No sir, you’re not gonna win, I’ll guarantee that.
Fievel: (chuckles) see that’s your problem. You underestimate us. Underestimating your opponents is, quite bad luck… I’ll see you on the other side of the pond.
Warren: Alright. I’ll bring a whole army to take you on.
Fievel takes off.
Warren: (Shouting) YOU DON’T KNOW WHATS COMING FIEVEL MOUSEKEWITZ YOU DON’T.
The eagle roars while flying away.
Warren looks at Fievel and the three ships that are getting further and further away. He sighs and gives some orders to Moe.
Warren: Ready my ships, and get the birds ready. We leave tomorrow at twelve o’clock at night.
Moe: It’s gonna get hard to get ready that quick, but we’ll get it done.
Warren: Good Moe, very good.
Moe: You want me to prepare your bird too.
Warren: Yes, I’m taking him with me, Fievel won’t know what hit him.
He looks at the ships and the eagle for a few more seconds then walks away.
